Summary Ahhh, our first trip was an amazing experience. We were missing two crew members (Jamie and Mary Kate), but we still made the best of our time without them. In one day we were able to cover a whopping 6 miles!! Of course we were just beginning and we did change layers every five minuets. This was a cold trip though. At night time it got down to at least below ten degrees if not lower. This trip was also our first experiences with using the stoves, cooking, putting up tents, and of course having a camp fire! (Which I must say was quite warm) Ben also told everyone the story of the radioactive raccoons. It is a very scary and is a very true story. Who knows you might see one one of these days. On Sunday, we packed up and headed out to Maquoketa were we went caving. Ro (Al and Pankuch's friend) showed up, and lead a group. She was a lot of fun to be with, and we had a great time with her. I must say, we all got a bit dirty on this trip. We broke into three groups and conqured the caves. We squeezed through touth areas, faced fears of bats and spiders, saw how many people you can cram into one cave, and set an all time speed record for a quater mile cave. And of course, no trip is complete without us stopping by a local dinner to get some food after all the fun. And of course pretending to leave without Dan was a great way to end the trip.
